Trip Overview
Another grand walk embracing the best of the Everest culture and landscape in the enchanting Gokyo Valley and picture-perfect sights in the Kalapatthar and Gokyo Ri vantage points, while excluding the challenge of passing the Cho La pass.
This is a safer and more laidback alternative trek that includes the Everest base camp, Kalapatthar, and Gokyo Valley. A moderately challenging trek that takes you on a detour into the fantastic wilderness of the Gokyo valley, it does not miss out on the more popular destinations like Kalapatthar and the Everest base camp. The trek familiarizes you with different facets of the Everest region without the difficult walk through the Cho La pass. Trekkers are expected to be fit and have maintained sound health.
The trek moves along the classic Everest base camp trek and branches off into the escalating path towards Gokyo which is a lot quieter and offers much freshness in terms of landscape and overall trekking experience. The path cuts through valleys, rivers, streams, and huge glaciers making for an exciting walk. The trails higher up open up to beautiful views and some spectacular mountains like Taboche, Cholatse, Aadablam, and Thamserku. As you venture into the Sagarmatha National park, the flora and fauna are another aspect of the trek that allures you. Trains of yaks and mules and mountain goats are common sightings. However, there is a chance of seeing the Himalayan pheasant, Himalayan Tahr, the Himalayan Monal, and other rare species. The Rhododendron, birch and pine forest, diverse Sherpa settlements, memorials, monasteries, gateways, and others add character to the vivacity of the trek.
A thrilling option to this adventure walk is the Gokyo-EBC trek which takes a different route and crosses through the Cho La pass.

We wake up to a beautiful view of rows of houses with colored roof, settled on the horse-shoe shaped terraces with Kongde peak standing tall in the western skyline. The morning hike to the Everest viewpoint is crucial for our acclimatization. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Kusum Kanguru, Amadablam show up before us. It is quite hard to believe the trek ahead promises views better than what we witness. We head back to Namche for lunch. We may relax and prepare the body to adapt to the gradual drop in atmospheric pressure, which is sure to be significant as we go higher. The rest of the day is best spent savoring the sights, sounds and delicacies of Namche. Dinner and more rest ends the day.

We trudge slowly but steadily over the Khumbu glacier for an hour and a half to reach the camp. The camp is a collection of memorials and colorful prayer flags. What Our Clients Say ?
Stunning View and Spiritually Rich - EVEREST
Verna N. Carson
This past year, I had done trekking into Nepal for the Thrill experience with all the Hiking Annapurna trekking and tours team and the provider reacts to our question very quickly with great response and clear detail. It is hard to write this review without getting hyperbole following hyperbole. They provided the best Hotel rooms, standard lodges with quality dinner and foods. Our guide created a plan to perform the short Everest Base Camp and this trip easily finished with a humble guide. The trek was about a stunning view of snowcapped mountains and glacier-fed river and landscape which grows increasingly and also the weather was bright - clear blue sky with no rain and otherworldly scenery. Climbing into the top hill behind Namche Bazaar you are rewarded with the very first view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse to the north. This area is truly rich by diversity, ethnic groups, and civilization. I heard so much about hiking and Nepali culture during the trek and 100% recommend Hiking Annapurna trekking and tours Nepal.
